3rd Migrating Course on Epilepsy

You are kindly requested to forward the information below to the members of your ILAE chapter.

The Commission on European Affairs (CEA) in liaison with the European Epilepsy Academy ( Eurepa) is presenting the educational initiative – “Migrating Course”.

 

The Third Course is planned in the Czech Republic, at Pruhonice near Prague, 24 – 31 May 2009. This course is clinically - oriented, targeted to specialists at the second and third level of epilepsy care and focused on comprehensive aspects of diagnosis and treatment of children and adults with epilepsy. It also includes the basic sciences in clinical epileptology issues and comprehensive care and rehabilitation of patients with epilepsy.

 

The faculty consists of leading European epileptologists. The faculty members give lectures on the clinically relevant aspects on epileptology and conduct interactive case discussions and/or tutorials on EEG, imaging or clinical pharmacology. The video-EEG sessions are supposed to be an integral part of the curriculum. Didactic cases provided by tutors and case reports prepared by participants are planned to be discussed in small group of participants. Teaching methodology is elaborated in cooperation with EUREPA and is based on interactive education.

 

Specialists in neurology, psychiatry, neuropsychiatry, paediatric neurology, paediatrics, clinical neurophysiology and psychology are welcome to apply.

 

The course is limited to a maximum of 36 applicants to allow an optimal level of interaction with the faculty members. Applicants will be primarily selected on the basis of their case report submitted.

 

Registration fee: 1000 Euro. It includes accommodation (in twin room), full board and access to all the educational activities (lectures, tutorials, case discussions, vide-sessions).

 

Bursaries will be available for successful applicants, priority - age up to 45 years!
